Position Summary
Lockhart Cadillac is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Service Advisor to join our Service Department. The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between our customers and our technicians, ensuring every customer receives a professional, transparent, and exceptional service experience.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about automotive service, has strong communication and organizational skills, and understands the importance of building lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally when they arrive for service.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and requested services.
- Perform vehicle walk-arounds and identify additional maintenance or service needs.
- Prepare accurate repair orders and communicate recommended services clearly.
- Provide customers with estimates, timelines, and updates throughout the repair process.
- Communicate effectively with technicians and the Service Department to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Review technician recommendations and explain repairs and maintenance to customers in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed.
- Keep customers informed of changes to repair timelines, costs, and vehicle status.
- Conduct thorough final reviews of completed work with customers.
- Maintain accurate records and follow dealership policies and manufacturer procedures.
- Deliver a high level of customer service while meeting department performance and sales objectives.
- Promote recommended maintenance and repair services based on the customer's vehicle needs.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive dealership or automotive service experience preferred.
- Previous Service Advisor experience strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to explain automotive repairs and maintenance to customers clearly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work well with technicians, management, and other dealership departments.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to use computers, dealership management systems, and basic office software.
Preferred Experience
- Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, or GM dealership experience.
- Experience with dealership service department processes.
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair procedures.
- Experience working with repair orders, estimates, warranty work, and customer-pay repairs.
- Experience using automotive dealership management systems, Dealertrack DMS, and Xtime preferred.
