About this role
Proto-Town is a hardware campus in Lockhart where companies build real things prototyping, manufacturing, and frontier hardware, all in one place.
We're spinning up a production run of 100 robotic arms and hiring technicians to build them. This is not a maintenance job or a line job at an established plant. You'll be assembling the first hundred units of a new product, which means the process is still being figured out as you go.
What you'll do
- Assemble robotic arms from drawings and parts kits
- Install motors, sensors, and wiring
- Test each arm and fix what doesn't work (physically)
Ideal Skillsets
- Hands-on assembly experience: robotics, automation, aerospace, automotive, appliance, medical device, electronics manufacturing, or comparable
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and build from them without hand-holding
- Comfortable with hand tools, torque wrenches, calipers, and a multimeter
- Capable of operating 3d printers
- Genuine attention to detail
- Able to lift 40 lbs and work on your feet
