JOB TITLE :  Clerk V - Behavioral Health (BH) Clinical Records Supervisor

DEPT CODE : AMH/2200

MONTHLY SALARY : $2,756/mo.

STATUS : Salaried/Non-exempt

SHIFT :   M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

POSITION SUMMARY & DUTIES/GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

The person in this position is responsible for scanning documents into patient electronic health records (EHR) on a daily basis; opening, closing, and maintaining EHRs; ensuring all required documentation is scanned into the EHR prior to daily scheduled patient appointments; preparing requests for release of protected health information (PHI) within time constraints; maintaining the security of the patient records; serving as a member of the Clinical Records Committee; supervising one records clerk; providing back-up staff support for MH receptionists at ABH and Children’s MH clinics when needed; general clerical duties and works under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer. Must be familiar with HIPAA rules governing the receipt and disclosure of protected health information.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Graduation from a senior high school or G.E.D. required.  Some business or commercial college preferred.

- A minimum of one year experience working with clinical records;

- Supervisory experience preferred.

- Bilingual (Spanish) candidates preferred.

- Valid Texas Driver License required.

- Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.

- Must be insurable on the Center's insurance

- Must be able to pass a background check

- Must be able to complete all MHMR Concho Valley training
