Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team and support second-shift manufacturing operations within a dynamic cable assembly and electrical manufacturing environment. The role involves being the primary technical resource for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum production efficiency. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures on manufacturing equipment.
- Identify root causes of machine downtime and implement corrective actions.
- Repair production equipment and replace defective components as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues to restore production quickly.
- Support equipment reliability initiatives to improve uptime.
- Provide second-shift support for manufacturing operations.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests.
- Work closely with production personnel to maintain operational efficiency.
- Minimize downtime and support production goals.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment.
- Execute corrective maintenance when failures occur.
- Assist in developing and improving maintenance practices and procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Utilize technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repairs.
- Support implementation of equipment improvements and automation initiatives.
- Identify replacement parts required for repairs and coordinate with equipment suppliers.
- Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ensure equipment is safely isolated before repairs are performed.
- Maintain compliance with company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
Essential Skills
- 2-3+ years of experience in equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in electrical maintenance and mechanical maintenance.
- Proficiency in equipment and machine repair.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to work with IPC, VFD, mechatronics, cable assembly manufacturing, automation, controls, and PLCs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in electronics manufacturing, electrical manufacturing, defense manufacturing, industrial equipment manufacturing, cable assembly manufacturing, or production manufacturing.
- Experience with production equipment, machine troubleshooting, and maintenance responsibilities.
- Skills in root cause analysis, equipment repair examples, and troubleshooting methodology.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.90 - $42.31/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
