Information Technology IT Specialist

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Information Technology (IT) Specialist provides technical support and maintains the technology infrastructure that supports WPSU's operations. This position installs, configures, and troubleshoots hardware, software, network, and audiovisual systems while ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient technology services for staff.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical support for computers, mobile devices, software, and peripherals.

- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and applications.

- Support network connectivity, user accounts, cybersecurity, and system access.

- Assist with the administration of servers, cloud services, and collaboration platforms.

- Maintain IT documentation, asset inventory, and software licensing records.

- Support audiovisual and conferencing technology for meetings, events, and productions.

- Maintain and manage local and cloud-based storage systems to ensure data is organized, secure, accessible, and properly maintained.

- Monitor system performance and recommend technology improvements.

- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement and technical support.

- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and security best practices.

- Provide after-hours or on-call support as needed for critical systems.

Qualifications

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Experience supporting desktop systems, networks, or enterprise IT environments preferred.

- Knowledge of Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, networking, and cybersecurity principles.
