This role sits within the Walt Disney Travel Company (International), the division that brings Disney Parks, Resorts, and experiences to guests across EMEA. We are seeking Senior .NET Developers to join our talented Hammersmith team and play a pivotal role in the next phase of our web platform modernisation, transitioning our e-commerce platform and marketing microsites from their current ASP.NET MVC 5 foundation toward a modern, cloud-hosted architecture.

This role   will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with   either   a Monday   or Friday   working from home.

Overall   Purpose of the Role

- Work as an integral par t of the   Disney Destinations International   team supporting Walt Disney Travel Company   ( International )   ecommerce   platform and portfolio of   marketing   microsites.

- Work closely with the   development team   to   maintain   and update   the   bespoke   ecommerce   platform,   taking a proactive approach in evolving the back-end technology stack and migrating legacy code   across   to   an   ASP.NET framework.

- A dvocate integration of technologies and development methodologies to help   drive the business   forward   and ensure   a robust, scalable platform .

Areas of Responsibility

- Support   back-end website development,   providing technical knowledge to   deliver   complex solutions   across f ull development life .

- Work closely with the Digital Commerce & Production Manager to   maintain   and update the bespoke   Classic ASP   ecommerce platform .

- Develop new features for   a   localized   ASP.NET   MVC 5 platform and contribute migrating legacy features over to this new platform.

- Write   maintainable ,   scalable , fault-tolerant   code ,   utilizing   SOLID principles and OO design/architectural   patterns , TDD, etc.

- Proactively   manage   tools,   hardware   and   environments to support development   requirements .

- Work with team members to   identify   workflows and   services   for   manag ing   code , from   version control   to   deployment   strategies.

- Log and t roubleshoot   errors using   appropriate   tools .

- Proactively research   and   explore   techniques to   maintain   position at the forefront of technology and enhance future business offerings.

Areas of Accountability

- The position has direct responsibility to   Lead Application Developer ,   Walt Disney Travel Company ( International ) .

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

- A   minimum   5   years   digital experience with   strong   digital portfolio.

- Experience   with bespoke   ecommerce   web applications   highly desirable .

- Experience in a development role, either client- or agency-side.

- Degree or equivalent in STEM or Computer Science discipline .

Skills Required

- Talented C# developer ( ASP.Net , MVC 5 )

- Solid experience   o f SOAP   WebServices   and   RESTful   WebAPIs

- Competent in use   of SQL Server and T-SQL queries.

- Experience   of .NET ORMs ( e.g.   Entity Framework )   desirable.

- K nowledge of CI and   automated build services ( e.g.   GitLab,   TeamCity ,   Cake   etc.)

- Experience with SDL Tridion   (or similar enterprise CMS)   desirable .

- Experience of IOC containers desirable ( Autofac ,   Ninject , etc.)

- Experience with unit testing frameworks ( e.g.   NUnit , MOQ,   etc )

- Practical   understanding of HTML/JS/CSS   and client-side   technologies .

- Experience with Agile   methodology .

- Good understanding of   s ource code management with git using   gitflow   development/release workflow and   ideally   Atlassian SourceTree as a git client.

- Experience with issue tracking software ( e.g.   JIRA)

- Comfortable working in small teams,   with   collaborative   outlook .

- Demonstrate experience in   working to   and achieving project milestones.

- Understanding of   application/database bottlenecks   and performance tuning , and ability to troubleshoot with   appropriate tools .

- Beneficial experience with beanstalk app and   Deploybot .
