About this role

Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description The Controls Engineer will lead the design, programming, integration, troubleshooting, and reliability of automated manufacturing systems. This individual will provide advanced technical support to plant and maintenance personnel and act as the facility’s controls and automation subject-matter expert. Responsibilities

- Design and program automation solutions using PLC and SCADA technologies.
- Configure, support, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, and associated control systems.
- Lead hardware and software integration for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Work with equipment and component suppliers to source, specify, and implement instrumentation and controls.
- Support production equipment while balancing safety, product quality, service, and profitability.
- Maintain CAD files, drawings, schematics, controls documentation, and other engineering records.
- Perform root-cause analysis on maintenance and production losses and implement sustainable countermeasures.
- Develop preventive-maintenance tasks and lead continuous-improvement initiatives that improve reliability.
- Train operators and support autonomous-maintenance practices.
- Prepare project plans, schedules, and capital-expenditure inputs.
- Execute concurrent capital projects from initial concept through commissioning and handoff.
- Coordinate resources and proposed equipment or process changes through the site’s change-management process.

Essential Skills

- Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI technologies.
- Strong experience in automation and controls engineering.
- Experience in electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to lead projects from concept to completion.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Five or more years of controls engineering experience.
- At least three years of manufacturing experience.
- At least three years of maintenance experience.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Burlington, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. % Bonus
