WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

The Operations Administrator is responsible for the shipping, receiving, clerical, and administrative functions for the department. This role also manages the complete operation and documentation of the physical truck scale. This position is based onsite in Kalamazoo, MI.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT

- Complete paperwork associated with billing, buying, receiving, and shipping of scrap metal in an accurate and timely manner

- Answer phones and assist drivers, visitors, and staff entering the facilities

- Weigh inbound and outbound material for shipping and receiving by utilizing the truck scale

- Prepare, post, and mail invoices

- Enter weights, photographs, and associated documentation into the ERP system

- Enter and post daily production logs

- Maintain scale and departmental records; file copies of weight tickets and shipping documents

- Review, finalize, and process scale receivers

- Assist with month-end duties according to the calendar and notify the Divisional Controller when complete

- Collaborate with the Supervisor on reporting and inventory tracking

- Interact in person with peers and the public

- Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Basic requirements:

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

- Demonstrated experience using ERP systems

- A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar administrative role (preferred)

- Organized, detail-oriented, a problem solver, a team player, and capable of working with analytical tools

- Able to work independently

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to meet deadlines

- Ability to use Microsoft Office and ERP systems

Physical requirements:

- Routinely sits; uses hands to type

- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the production department and other designated areas

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

- Pay: $20–$22/hour base rate

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM

- Weekly pay

- 16 days of PTO in your first year
