About this role

SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of the Delivery Supervisor are to train, direct and supervise assigned route drivers. The Delivery Supervisor will also use problem-solving skills to handle delivery issues and customer complaints when they arise, as well as promote and exemplify a safe work environment at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist Delivery Manager in interviewing and selecting potential candidates for open positions.

- Provide on-the-job training for Delivery Drivers on assigned routes.

- Handle any employee discipline or performance issues according to company policy, maintaining proper documentation.

- Work with personnel regarding the implementation of changes in procedures and systems.

- Assign job tasks to team according to route delivery schedules.

- Work with customers to ensure the timely delivery of products.

- Fill-in and cover routes when regular drivers are out due to vacations or other absences. Drive trucks to deliver and unload products when necessary.

- Understand delivery systems regarding routing, time-stops, and driver check-in or check-out activities.

- Responsible for compliance with the company's Product Freshness Policy.

- Follow-up on all customer complaints in assigned accounts to ensure problems are resolved to prevent recurrence.

- Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.

- Assist in the training process of all Delivery Drivers/Driver Trainees.

- Is familiar with and certified to use all types of delivery equipment, pallet jacks, docks and dock-levers, trucks, and trailers per company and OSHA standards.

- Understand warehouse activities regarding driver check-in or check-out, code-dating and truck loading.

- Attend all company meetings as required.

- Work with sales department to accomplish market visits/work-with activities.

- Follow the On Boarding training schedule when assisting Trainers

- Maintain proper communication with all personnel and customers

- Adhere to dress code, including safety non-negotiables.

- Obey all federal, state, and local laws.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
Knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as cost or general accounting, business administration, logistics, management, economics, human resources, marketing, supply chain management, sales, technical purchasing. Equivalent to high school plus additional broad specialized training equal to 2 years of technical college OR apprenticeship training.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and percentages to yield margins, mark-up, and commissions.

Minimum Qualifications
