About this role
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the BSA Officer with meeting the Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act Program obligations, which includes AML alert management and case creation responsibilities to support Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing efforts and OFAC compliance. This individual will work with business units and branch locations to obtain required information needed to complete daily BSA/AML compliance tasks.
Includes:
Use an automated monitoring system (AMS), along with manual reports and employee referrals, to monitor, identify, and escalate suspicious activity and fraud. Prepare regulatory reports, such as currency transaction reports.
These duties will be performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Maintain confidentiality of all alerts, cases, investigations, customer information, etc., both internally and externally.
- Use an automated monitoring system, manual reports, and internal referrals to monitor, identify, and escalate suspicious activity and fraud through case creation.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may indicate money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes.
- Monitor and resolve potential customer matches to government lists, such as the OFAC SDN List.
- Must understand Right to Financial Privacy.
- Prepare and maintain written procedures for daily tasks.
- Resolve potential cash transactions as identified by the bank’s automated monitoring system.
- Document, monitor, and report exceptions to policies and procedures through Verafin, FCM, or any other exception tracking system, as designated by the BSA Officer.
- Review and prepare complete and accurate Currency Transaction Reports prior to submission by the BSA Officer.
- Assist in gathering information for internal audits or exams.
- Monitor the monetary instrument log for the collection of necessary recordkeeping information.
- Complete all assigned training in a timely manner to ensure proficiency with laws and regulations.
- Follow policies and procedures, complete tasks in a timely manner, support the bank’s goals and values, and benefit the bank through outside activities.
- Obtain the ACAMS Certified Transaction Monitoring Associate program certificate within the first six months after hire.
- Complete periodic customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence reviews of customers, as assigned by the BSA Officer.
- Complete reviews of customer profile maintenance and document exceptions.
- Serve as backup to the BSA CIP/CDD Specialist.
- Complete all duties assigned by the BSA Officer.
- Performs the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others. Expected to report potentially unsafe conditions. The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The employee is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position includes driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately 5% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
Occasional travel may be required to other markets as needed. Occasional overnight and/or out of state travel may be expected for training.
The employee in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
The employee for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), scanning equipment, money counter, computer terminal, personal computer, and related printers.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of banking experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and related laws and regulations.
- Ability to define problems and propose solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational/time-management skills.
- Ability to effectively complete multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
- Ability to work independently and/or in teams under limited supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong interpersonal skills evidenced in both verbal and written communications as well as excellent listening skills.
- Business writing skills and experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of general banking principles, philosophies, and operations.
- Ability to provide leadership, motivating and persuading others to address compliance risks without having actual authority over them.
- Current Arkansas driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
