Strittmatter Companies , a respected leader in site development and excavation, is actively seeking a Safety Technician to support our rapidly expanding field operations. In this key role, you’ll help shape and strengthen our safety culture across multiple job sites and facilities. We're looking for a proactive safety professional who values teamwork, precision, and accountability — and is ready to make a meaningful impact.
This is a boots-on-the-ground role with real influence. You’ll work closely with field teams, leadership, and subcontractors to promote best practices, ensure compliance, and help every employee go home safe — every day.
🔧 What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with project teams and departments to identify hazards and implement effective control measures using engineering solutions or PPE
- Conduct regular job site safety audits, inspections, and observations, and document and report findings
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company-specific safety policies
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and develop corrective/preventative actions
- Deliver engaging safety training in both field and classroom settings
- Provide first-aid care for minor injuries and support emergency response when necessary
- Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management on safety-related concerns
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory standards and contribute to continuous improvement of our safety systems
✅ What You Bring to the Table:
- Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA standards and a strong desire to learn and grow
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or extended shifts
- Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and on active job sites
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
➕ Bonus Points For:
- OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 certification
- BCSP certification (CHST, STS, or equivalent)
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Previous safety experience in construction, excavation, or demolition
