The Parent Educator is vital in continuing MRIs mission to promote growth, independence and self-worth by providing personal visits to participating families homes, creating individualized family support plans and documenting developmental milestones . The Parent Educator also leads parent groups at MRIs Childrens Center, completes required documentation and is responsible for intervening in crisis situations.

Qualifications
What do you need to succeed?
- Must supply transcripts of an Associate’s degree in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work or a related field, which includes course work in child development. Must have a minimum of one year of supervised experience in an early childhood setting.
- Must have the physical capability to pull, push, turn, stoop, kneel, reach, and bend.
- Must display the ability to work flexible hours, including occasional Saturdays and/or weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct agency-generated services/ business and/or to transport infant/families as needed; must maintain a valid Illinois Driver's License and a good Motor Vehicle Record; and must have auto insurance.
