About this role
We are seeking a Seasonal HRIS Onboarding Specialist to join our team. Under general supervision, the Onboarding Specialist will serve as a point-of-contact for ensuring hire data integrity, approving hire forms and workflows, and responding to general employee and manager inquiries on topics associated with onboarding, employment eligibility documents, E-Verify, background, and offboarding.
This is a full-time seasonal role with anticipated duration of approximately October 5, 2026 – January 30, 2027. Some weekly overtime is available once trained. Days and hours are typically Sunday - Thursday from 10AM - 6:30PM EST. Hours and days are flexible and can be discussed during interview process.
What you'll do here:
• Collect, organize, and review all new hire onboarding paperwork in electronic format for accuracy and completeness.
• Track and perform audits and reviews for background checks, I-9, and E-Verify documentation for validity.
• Maintain and update various status reports and regularly provide status updates for HR and retail leadership.
• Flag issues related to delayed onboarding and follows-up to ensure employees and managers are notified.
• Communicate and collaborate with appropriate support personnel as needed, such as Payroll, Benefits, and management.
• Willingness to follow-up, ability to multi-task, and desire to help to expedite and streamline the employee experience at JH.
• Ensure new hire employee records are compliant by conducting file audits.
• Train leaders on how to utilize the HRIS and onboarding paperwork.
Skills you'll bring for success:
• 3+ years of HRIS or Onboarding experience
• Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
• Experience using UKG preferred, but not required
• Proactive team player with solid organizational skills
• Successful track record of meeting deadlines with exemplary work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, communicates frequently, and is a master of attention to detail
• Ability to work in various systems simultaneously
• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
• Must be able to effectively handle highly sensitive and confidential employee matters at all times
• Capability to work in an unstructured, sometimes ambiguous environment due to governance and operating model
