About this role

SUMMARY:

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the organization's Integrated Management System (IMS). This position serves as the management system subject matter expert and ensures compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and organizational objectives.

The Quality Systems Manager leads management system governance activities supporting ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management, ISO 14001:2026 Environmental Management, ISO 27001:2022 Information Security Management, and other applicable standards. The role drives risk-based thinking, process effectiveness, audit programs, corrective action management, organizational improvement initiatives, compliance evaluations, and management review activities to ensure the management system supports business performance, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Leadership & Management System Governance

Serve as Management Representative and subject matter expert for the organization's Integrated Management System (IMS).

- Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of management system processes.

- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2026, ISO 27001:2022, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.

- Monitor internal and external changes that may impact management system effectiveness or certification compliance.

- Provide recommendations to executive leadership regarding system performance, risks, opportunities, and resource needs.

- Establish management system objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting mechanisms.

- Facilitate risk and opportunity assessments across business functions utilizing risk-based thinking methodologies.

- Audit & Corrective Action Management

Develop and manage the internal audit program, including training and oversight of internal auditors.

- Coordinate certification audits, surveillance audits and customer audits.

- Ensure effective root cause analysis and timely resolution of corrective actions.

- Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions and systemic improvements/

- Conduct trend analysis to identify recurring issues and opportunities for preventive action.

- Continuous Improvement

Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, risk analysis, and quality management methodologies.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

- Facilitate problem-solving teams and organizational improvement projects.

- Training & Organizational Development

Develop and deliver management system awareness and compliance training.

- Mentor personnel in quality principles, auditing techniques, risk management, and process improvement methodologies.

- Promote awareness of customer, regulatory, environmental, and information security requirements throughout the organization.

- Supplier & Customer Support

Support supplier qualification, assessment, and management system evaluations as required.

- Serve as a point of contact for management system-related customer inquiries and compliance requirements.

- Required to support customer launch and program management lifecycle activities.

- Required to support internal/external first articles.

- Required to support customer inquiries.

- All other duties as requested by supervisor or department head.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2026, and ISO 27001:2022 requirements and implementation practices.

- Demonstrated experience managing an Integrated Management System in a manufacturing and/or technology environment.

- Strong understanding of risk management, process management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Experience leading internal audit programs and interacting with certification bodies, customers, and regulatory agencies.

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and performance metrics.

- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational change without direct authority.

- Proficiency with document management systems, and business reporting tools.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

- Requires a Bachelor of Science in a relevant field from an accredited program, Engineering, or Computer Science and a minimum of 7 years of Quality Management Systems related experience or a minimum of 12 years of Quality Management Systems Experience.

- Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or electronic assembly environments.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Ability to read, write and speak English.

- Ability to compose reports and provide effective correspondence.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Knowledge of advanced mathematics skills that will enhance implementation of Statistical Process Control is preferred.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Strong analytical skills and the ability to logically break down complex situations into tasks, or to formulate fault trees for risk analysis.
