Job Title: MEP Superintendent Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Superintendent / MEP Superintendent to join our team on a Data Center project in Columbus, OH. This role involves leading and overseeing all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty systems for a designated building on a large-scale construction project. As the primary field leader for all MEP-related activities, you will ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage MEP subcontractors.
- Monitor installation progress and resolve field issues.
- Support quality assurance and commissioning efforts.
- Partner with project management teams to drive successful project execution.
- Maintain schedule commitments and enforce safety expectations.
- Ensure all building systems are installed and operating per design requirements.
Essential Skills
- 7+ years of construction superintendent experience with a strong focus on MEP.
- Experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty subcontractors.
- Ability to manage all MEP scopes for large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of installation sequencing, commissioning, coordination, and quality control.
- Experience working with either a General Contractor or MEP Contractor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting mission-critical, data center, industrial, or manufacturing construction projects.
- Knowledge of commissioning, startup, and turnover processes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience leading subcontractor meetings and driving field coordination efforts.
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools is preferred.
Work Environment
This is a field-based position supporting a large-scale construction project. You will be responsible for one building and have full oversight of all MEP scopes. The environment is fast-paced, requiring daily coordination with project management, subcontractors, and client stakeholders. The typical workweek is 50 hours (Monday to Friday) with occasional weekends. Travel home schedules vary by project and can be arranged with the site lead.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
