Job Title: Designer Job Description
Maintain and update engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment records, and technical documentation using AutoCAD. Support Management of Change (MOC) processes by coordinating drawing revisions and engineering document updates. Assist engineering teams with capital projects, document control activities, and plant drawing maintenance. Manage equipment numbering, asset tracking, and engineering records to ensure documentation accuracy. Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and contractor teams to support project execution and facility operations. Generate reports and track the status of engineering drawings, records, and documentation updates. Support the continuous improvement of drafting and document control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes by coordinating drawing revisions.
- Assist engineering teams with capital projects and document control activities.
- Manage equipment numbering and asset tracking to ensure documentation accuracy.
- Coordinate with various teams to support project execution and facility operations.
- Generate reports and track the status of engineering drawings and documentation updates.
- Support the continuous improvement of drafting and document control procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting techniques.
- Experience with document control and P&ID knowledge.
- 3-5 years of AutoCAD drafting or design experience.
- Experience working with engineering drawings and document control systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment is preferred.
- Leadership experience and expertise in change management.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and project coordination.
- Experience in asset management and supporting capital projects.
Work Environment
The position is based in an industrial manufacturing facility, primarily office-based with routine interaction in plant environments. Frequent collaboration with engineering, maintenance, production, and project teams is expected. The role may require climbing stairs and ladders and performing occasional field verification of equipment and drawings. Occasional overtime may be necessary to support project deadlines.

This is a Permanent position based out of Decatur, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
