Position Overview Corn Mill Manufacturing Facility is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler/Assistant Project Manager to lead projects that improve safety, reliability, and automation across our site. This role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of projects – from $500K plant process improvements to $30MM major site infrastructure investments – while working within a collaborative, safety focused, and trusted team environment. You’ll spend roughly 85% of your time in the office and roughly 15% of your time on construction sites as you develop an understanding of project scope, construction progress, and execution challenges firsthand What You'll Do • Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules for multiple construction projects. • Invest time each week at construction sites to verify progress and build relationships with construction teams. • Facilitate schedule review meetings with project teams, construction teams, and stakeholders. • Partner closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers to establish realistic project plans and identify critical path tasks. • Provide schedule updates, look-ahead plans, and progress reporting to project teams and leadership. Who You'll Work With You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work daily with experienced individuals including: • Project Engineers and Project Managers that have executed hundreds of millions of dollars of projects in the plant. • Construction Managers who came up through the ranks of the skilled trades and know how to identify construction schedule risks. • Construction Superintendents and other skilled trades professionals that know how to safely execute project work throughout the facility. You will become a trusted and integral member of the team by asking questions, applying your skills to help the team execute their projects, and by being willing to make mistakes & learn from them. - Demonstrated ability to create and maintain detailed project schedules involving multiple stakeholders and contractors.
- Experience working in active industrial or construction environments preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or a related discipline preferred.
- Project Management experience (directly leading projects) is a plus.
Work Environment This role is 100% on-site at an active corn wet mill in Iowa. You will spend approximately 85% of your time in an office setting and 15% in active construction areas. Regular interactions will occur with engineering managers, project engineers, project managers, construction managers, construction superintendents, skilled trades personnel, contractors, subcontractors, and site and project stakeholders. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
