Job Summary

The PM Thermoforming Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery that transforms recycled plastic into sustainable egg cartons. This role includes setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the thermoforming machine, building and stacking pallets, and ensuring quality and efficiency in the production process. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting Hickmans sustainability initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Operate thermoforming machine, monitoring computer screens and interacting with equipment controls to ensure smooth operation.

- Load and feed thermoform rolls and recycled plastic flakes onto the machine for continuous production.

- Unload and replace thermoform rolls as needed to support efficient workflow.

- Palletize finished products and use inventory management systems to scan and document finished goods.

- Perform routine quality checks to verify that products meet company standards for consistency and durability.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization around the work area, following safety and housekeeping protocols.

- Adhere to company safety policies, including proper use of PPE, and follow all workplace safety procedures.

- Communicate with management and team members to report key issues, machine status, or any concerns impacting production.

- Cargar y alimentar la mquina con rollos de termoformado y hojuelas de plstico reciclado para mantener la produccin continua.

- Descargar y reemplazar rollos de termoformado segn sea necesario para mantener un flujo de trabajo eficiente.

- Paletizar los productos terminados y utilizar las sistemas de gestin de inventario para escanear y registrar los bienes terminados.

- Realizar inspecciones rutinarias de calidad para verificar que los productos cumplan con los estndares de consistencia y durabilidad de la empresa.

- Mantener el rea de trabajo limpia y organizado, siguiendo los protocolos de seguridad y orden establecidos.

- Cumplir con las polticas de seguridad de la empresa, incluyendo el uso adecuado del equipo de proteccin personal (EPP), y seguir todos los procedimientos de seguridad en el lugar de trabajo.

- Comunicarse con la gerencia y los miembros del equipo para informar sobre problemas importantes, el estado de la mquina o cualquier asunto que afecte la produccin.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Ability to obtain forklift and pallet jack certification.

- Experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment preferred.

- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift to 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift or more.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as the facility operates 24/7.

- Self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.

Education and Experience

- No specific education requirement listed

- Prior food production or processing experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods.

- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.

- Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule

- This position begins with daytime hours for training. Upon successful completion of training, the employee will transition to a PM (evening/night) shift. During the training period, the employee will learn the necessary skills and responsibilities, and once fully trained, will be expected to work in the PM shift as the primary role.

Horario de Trabajo

Este puesto comienza con un horario diurno durante el perodo de capacitacin. Al completar con xito la capacitacin, el empleado pasar a un turno PM (vespertino/nocturno). Durante la capacitacin, el empleado aprender las habilidades y responsabilidades necesarias, y una vez completamente capacitado, trabajar en el turno PM como funcin principal.
