Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative II to join our Imaging Contact Center team at Baptist Southbank Plaza in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time day shift opportunity.
The Imaging Contact Center supports patients throughout the scheduling and registration process, helping ensure a seamless experience from initial contact through their visit. The Patient Access Representative II provides exceptional service through both face-to-face and telephonic interactions while ensuring accurate registration, appropriate documentation, and compliance with applicable healthcare regulations.
Patient Access Representative II Job Responsibilities:
- Register patients accurately and efficiently while ensuring all required demographic, insurance, and registration information is complete.
- Utilize multiple systems and interfaces to support patient access functions and maintain accurate patient information.
- Cross-train and work across multiple Patient Access areas to support departmental needs and operational efficiency.
- Provide service excellence to patients and visitors through professional face-to-face and telephone interactions.
- Contribute to Patient Access Services (PAS) goals and initiatives, including collections, palm scanning, and other departmental performance measures.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO requirements.
- Ensure required patient consent and compliance documentation is accurately communicated and completed while maintaining patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Patient Access Representative II Experience:
- Customer Service Experience (required)
- Healthcare Experience (required)
- 1–2 years Insurance Experience (required)
- Experience in hospital registration or patient access (preferred)
Patient Access Representative II Education & Credential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Registers patients accurately and efficiently
Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces
Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas
Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)
Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members
Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
