Forbes Bros. Timberline Construction, Inc. is hiring Assemblers to support transmission construction work in the Stapleton, Nebraska area. We are primarily seeking candidates who live locally or within the surrounding area and can reliably report to the project.
The Assembler performs hands-on field work supporting the assembly and erection of lattice transmission towers, including steel layout, material handling, site organization, and general crew support. This is a physically demanding outdoor role working as part of a transmission construction crew.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lay out and organize structural steel in fly yards and along the right-of-way.
- Assemble lattice transmission towers in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Carry, move, stage, and organize materials required for tower assembly.
- Operate small equipment, hand tools, and other tools associated with transmission construction.
- Spot vehicles and equipment during field operations.
- Assist craft and crew members with tower assembly and other construction activities.
- Maintain organized and productive work areas.
- Complete site setup, housekeeping, and cleanup, including removal of debris and potential hazards.
- Identify work that does not meet specifications and raise concerns with supervision.
- Participate in tailboard, safety, and project meetings.
- Perform other duties required to support the crew and project.

- Properly use required personal protective equipment and follow established safe work practices.
- Recognize jobsite hazards and take appropriate steps to control or report them.
- Contribute to a strong safety culture by working safely and looking out for the crew.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience assembling transmission towers; tower erection experience is considered an asset.
- General knowledge of the principles and methods used to assemble lattice transmission towers.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and small equipment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew with limited supervision.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and moving materials.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by the project schedule.
Location & Schedule
This position is based on a transmission project in the Stapleton, Nebraska area. Preference will be given to candidates located in Stapleton and surrounding communities who can reliably report to the project.
Project schedules may require extended workdays, overtime, and weekend work depending on construction activities and project needs.
The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.
This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.
Base Pay Range $18 — $22 USD
