About the Role
Are you a proactive individual with a passion for patient care? We are looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our tight-knit team at Ormiston Hospital.
In this role (1x 0.9 FTE positions available) , you will support our Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses within the Ward Department. You will ensure our patients receive a seamless, warm, and professional experience from surgery through to discharge. You aren’t just "extra hands" - you are a key player in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and positive atmosphere of our clinical environment.
This is a rostered position requiring flexibility to meet the needs of the ward. Please note that specific shift patterns will be discussed during the interview process.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a surgical facility. Experience within a private healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Completion of an NZQA Level 4 Healthcare Assistant accredited course or an equivalent qualification (e.g., an International Registered Nurse with an NZQA assessment).
- This role involves heavy lifting, patient transfers, and being on your feet - you must be comfortable with the physical demands of a busy hospital.
- Someone who proactively identifies tasks and jumps in to help the wider team.
- A commitment to delivering unbiased, culturally appropriate care to all patients.
