JOB SUMMARY / INTRODUCTION
Senior Officer – OFM Training, Awareness & Capability Building
The OFM Training, Awareness & Capability function is responsible for awareness, communication, education and capability building activities across Operational, Fraud and Model Risk Management. The function supports the implementation and adoption of OFM frameworks, policies and standards but does not own policy development, methodology design, governance oversight, regulatory issue management, risk appetite, audit governance or independent challenge activities. These responsibilities remain with OFM Framework & Governance and the relevant OFM domain teams. The Training & Awareness roles is positioned as OFM enablement and risk culture roles focused on awareness, communications, education and capability building.
The purpose of the job is to instil a culture of vigilance, awareness and capability building activities which helps protect the organization, employees, customers and its stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Demonstrate compliance to organisation’s values and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the bank.
Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies and quality standards
Specific Accountabilities
• Support with Operational Risk Advisory & Oversight, investigators, strategy manager and other SME’s to identify fraud trends which will help to create awareness content that is relevant.
• Keep updated on evolving trends and lead the Training, Awareness & Capability building communications for customer, staff, vendors and creating newsletters on fraud related news and prepare an annual fraud awareness plan for the year.
• Support and coordinate with subject matter experts to aid in crafting and delivering targeted operational risk awareness communications for customers, staff and third party vendors.
• Ensure that all awareness material is succinct to ensuring clarity and ease of comprehension.
• Identify and make recommendations to the line manager on new and innovative channels of communication to reach the target audience.
• Support internal training programs for bank employees and draft material relevant to targeted groups of employees.
• Coordinate and support with external parties for fraud trainings either internally or externally as/if required.
• Support with the preparation of material and coordinating the delivery of the awareness campaign related to the International Fraud Awareness Week.
• Supporting all OFM TAC and the wider OFM team activities as/when required.
• Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organisational and governance frameworks.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline.
• 2 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector.
• Working knowledge of bank products, channels and services.
• Working knowledge of Operational Risk in the banking sector.
• Strong administrative skills and ability to multitask.
• Experience in crafting and delivery of communications and training material.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
