About this role

We’re looking for a hands-on Junior Business Analyst to join CMC Markets’ technology team, focusing on pricing and risk applications. Working in an agile environment, you’ll translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories and testable solutions, connecting product, development, quantitative, dealing and vendor teams from gap analysis through to delivery.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with the product, business analysis and development teams to analyse,   collate   and produce business requirements, including gap analysis on a range of project and product initiatives.

- With a strong emphasis on pricing/risk front office application development ,   the role will be   required   to communicate effectively among software developers, quantitative analysts, dealing desks, other stakeholders in the company and external vendors.

- In an agile framework, the role will need to capture business requirements, produce software requirement specification s , and scope out testing requirements, which are suitable for iterative developments.

- Once features are in development, the role will be   required   to   help support the management of   the development life cycle .    This involves   assisting   the lead BA on the   monitor ing   of the development team, tracking   user   story   status   and   feeding into the   project/iteration plans , as   required .

- The role will   be responsible for   maintaining   high-quality documentation on the developed features of a system, which will serve as a basis for risk assessment and for auditing purpose.

- The role may require the ability   to convey to the business and product team s   the impact of suggested change s   to help   determine   the impact and delivery   timeframes .

- S upport user-training activities   and related documentation .

- Keep the Lead Business Analyst aware of any escalations ,   issues,   and ad-hoc changes   as soon as they arise and seek   assistance   and guidance where necessary so that project risks can be mitigated as early as possible.

- Provide support to other members of the Business Analysis   community   and   collaborate   to achieve   the CMC Groups   business   objectives .

General

- Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training.

- When dealing with all clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear,   fair   and consistent high-quality service that   maintains   all CMC group values.

- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be   reasonably required ,   and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Financial   Services   background is essential. Knowledge of FX Spot trading and Exchange Traded Products and related platforms for Equities, Futures and Options is highly   advantageous . Understanding of Spread betting and/or CFD trading is beneficial.

- Strong   commercial experience as a Business Analyst embedded in a technology team.

- Experience of conducting   and supporting   test   activities   advantageous .

- Proven experience of applying Agile software development methodologies is essential.

- Good working knowledge of the following software is essential: Jira, Confluence, Miro and Excel, and SQL   advantageous .

- Experience using AI tools to support analysis   advantageous .

- Team player with the ability to work independently as well as supporting the Lead BA.

- Strong problem-solving skills are   required   and the   ability to   take   ownership of   small   tasks.

Hand’s On:

- Ability to produce detailed business requirements, configuration management, specifications ,   E pic s and   U ser   S tories to the highest standard is essential.

- Comfortable with contributing to technical and design discussions with product,   developers   and business analysis teams.

- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work at a fast pace under challenging deadlines.

Communication Skills:

- A bility to communicate through all levels of the project line and with senior stakeholders.

- A bility to communicate with development and testers at a technical level.

- Ability to build strong professional relationships across the business, to enable cross-functional collaboration.

Ability to present   new ideas   and challenge existing processes where   appropriate .
