About this role
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes in N’Djamena, Chad and direct supervision of the Programmes Coordinator (IBG) and administrative supersion of the Head of Sub Office ; and in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and regional office, the Senior Project Associate will support the implementation of the IBG portfolio in Chad, including, but not limited to, border management information systems, legal identity, counter-migrant smuggling, border governance, Humanitarian Border Management, community policing.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or,
- High School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in supporting the implementation of Immigration and Border Governance (IBG)-related interventions
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
SKILLS
- Knowledge of immigration and border governance, including border management and border management information systems
- Knowledge of project implementation, monitoring and reporting
- Ability to coordinate effectively with government authorities, UN agencies and other partners
- Strong organizational, analytical and drafting skills
- Knowledge of IOM administrative and financial procedures is an advantage.
