About this role

The Director of Project Finance & M&A is responsible for leading financial analysis, structuring and financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments in renewable energy assets and platforms across the United States and Canada.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Insurance, this role plays a central role in evaluating transaction opportunities, structuring project financings, and supporting capital formation activities, including tax equity, tax credit transferability, and project debt.

The Director will work closely with the M&A, Business Development, Legal, Tax, and Asset Management teams, as well as external advisors and capital providers, to ensure robust financial evaluation and optimal financing structures for investments and operating assets.

The role requires strong expertise in renewable energy project finance, financial modeling, tax equity structures, transferability, and project-level debt financing.

To maximize collaboration and innovation, an essential function of this role is a regular onsite presence in an Enel office.

The Instrument and Controls Specialist is responsible to support execute and provide configuration and maintenance services for the Process Control System and other automation systems at the Enel Green Power Facilities for Solar assets. Ensure facility controls automation and machinery function safely, efficiently, reliably and within budgetary limits, utilizing allocated resources, with the objective of meeting business goals for production while minimizing unscheduled equipment down time. Provide day-to-day maintenance activities and provide mentoring/coaching to less experienced employees.

What you will do Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:

M&A Financial Due Diligence and Transaction Support

Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint venture transactions, including review of project financial models, assumptions, capital structures, and financing arrangements.

Evaluate project economics, financing structures, tax attributes, and key commercial contracts to identify financial risks and value drivers.

Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors on buy-side and sell-side transaction processes, including data room review, financial analysis, and diligence reporting.

Prepare investment committee materials, valuation analyses, and transaction recommendations for senior management.

Project Finance Structuring

Support the origination, negotiation, and closing of project financings including tax equity partnerships, transferability transactions, and term debt facilities.

Coordinate closely with lenders, tax equity investors, transferability buyers, and financial advisors during transaction execution.

Analyze and structure tax equity partnership transactions, including partnership flip structures and related financial modeling.

Conduct sensitivity analysis, valuation analysis, and financing optimization scenarios.

Ensure modeling assumptions are aligned with project contracts, tax structures, and financing agreements.

Provide financial input into investment committee materials and strategic decision processes.

Work closely with M&A, Development, Valuation, Legal, Tax, and Asset Management teams to support project execution and investment decision making.

What you will bring

Education

Master’s degree in Finance , Economics, Business Administration or related field

MBA, CFA or other professional designation preferred

Experience

Minimum 6–8 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or renewable energy transactions

Direct experience with M&A financial due diligence and transaction execution

Demonstrated experience with tax equity structures, tax credit transferability transactions, and project debt financing

Experience in renewable energy or power sector required

Technical Skills

Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills

Strong understanding of project finance structures and capital markets

Experience reviewing and negotiating financing term sheets and transaction documentation

Professional Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to present complex financial analysis to senior management

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities

Ability to manage multiple transaction processes simultaneously
