Description Actalent Services is currently hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for a client that specializes in designing and manufacturing industrial automated equipment. Responsibilities include: -Working for a Project Manager and other team members to assess project assignment and ideas -Customer interaction and communication -Machine design of safe and cost effective concepts, parts models, and assemblies using customer requirements -Parts and assembly detail / tolerance of drawings and releasing to the machine shop -Machine shop support of part detail drawings -Research and ordering of purchase content for machine design including pneumatic cylinders, valves, air prep systems, bearings, motors, drive systems, sensors, and other devices used in automated machinery design -Bill of material documentation -Interface with/and support Assembly, Electrical and Software Design Additional Skills & Qualifications - Need to be experienced and be able to hit ground running with machine designs of concepts, parts models, and assemblies, as well as have experience researching and ordering purchase content for machine design including pneumatic cylinders, valves, air prep systems, bearings, motors, drive systems, sensors, and other devices used in automated machinery design. - Must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (+2 years of experience as a Design Engineer within SolidWorks doing equipment design would suffice too) - Must have 2 or more years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer that has done 3d design for machine design/industrial equipment - preferably automated equipment or at least has had exposure to automated equipment design (this means, if the Design Engineer worked for a high-volume manufacturing company and had exposure to equipment layout/equipment design, then this would work) - Must have prior 3d modeling experience within a CAD Software (Solidworks is highly preferred but Inventor would work as well). Must have an understanding of GD&T. Must also have experience with Bill of Materials (BoM) or releasing BoM documentation Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewis Center, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.08/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
