About this role

Lab Technician

Overview

Are you someone who enjoys chemistry, problem-solving, and hands-on laboratory work? We are seeking a Lab Technician to play a key role in ensuring product quality by testing samples, analyzing results, and supporting manufacturing operations. This position offers a unique combination of laboratory analysis and production support, giving you exposure to both controlled lab environments and real-world manufacturing processes. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you'll have the opportunity to perform chemical testing, investigate sample results, and directly contribute to the quality of products produced every day.

---

What You'll Do

- Collect production samples directly from CNC manufacturing equipment for laboratory analysis.
- Prepare and mix chemical solutions using proper laboratory procedures and fume hood equipment.
- Perform titrations and other analytical tests to verify product quality and process consistency.
- Evaluate test results and communicate findings to support manufacturing and quality objectives.
- Document testing activities and maintain accurate records using ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Monitor trends in laboratory data and identify potential quality concerns.
- Assist with chemical preparation and solution management for routine testing activities.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
- Partner with production, quality, and laboratory personnel to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support team scheduling needs by providing flexibility when coverage is needed.

---

What We're Looking For

- Coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Biology, or a related science field, OR equivalent laboratory experience.
- Experience performing laboratory testing, sample analysis, or quality testing.
- Understanding of chemical handling procedures and laboratory safety practices.
- Ability to perform titrations and accurately prepare chemical solutions.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Ability to balance work between a manufacturing floor and a laboratory environment.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute within a small team setting.

---

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a manufacturing, metals, chemical, or industrial laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or digital quality management software.
- Previous quality assurance or quality control experience.
- Experience interpreting laboratory data and troubleshooting process issues.

---

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

- Mix of laboratory science and manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on chemistry work rather than strictly repetitive testing.
- Small team environment with greater visibility and responsibility.
- Consistent 1st shift schedule (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
- Monthly employee lunches and team-focused culture.
- Opportunity to expand laboratory, quality, and manufacturing skills in a single role.

---

Work Environment

This role splits time between a climate-controlled laboratory and an active manufacturing facility. Technicians regularly collect samples from CNC production equipment before returning to the lab for chemical analysis and documentation. The manufacturing environment can be hot, noisy, and industrial, while the laboratory provides a clean and organized workspace designed for testing and quality evaluation.
