Job Title: Concrete Coatings Lead

Full Time: Hourly. Final compensation depends upon skill and experience. Paid weekly.

Position Summary

The Concrete Coatings Division delivers premium concrete coating solutions for residential and commercial spaces-including garages, patios, driveways, pool decks, and interior floors The Lead is a hands-on field leader responsible for overseeing small crews through the preparation, application, and finishing of concrete coating systems. This person works alongside crew members, assigns daily tasks, monitors workmanship, and keeps projects moving safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead small concrete coatings crews, assigning tasks based on project requirements, crew experience, and daily production goals.

- Perform and oversee surface preparation, including grinding, cleaning, crack repair, and concrete profiling to ensure proper coating adhesion.

- Evaluate substrate and job-site conditions; communicate concerns that could affect installation, quality, or completion timelines before proceeding.

- Mix and apply coating systems according to manufacturer specifications, including required ratios, coverage rates, working times, and cure times.

- Inspect work throughout installation and at completion; address deficiencies promptly and verify the project is ready for customer use within specified cure requirements.

- Monitor material usage and crew productivity to reduce waste and support project labor and material expectations.

- Train and coach crew members on installation techniques, equipment operation, safety practices, and workmanship standards.

- Communicate professionally with customers regarding daily activities, site access, property protection, and curing restrictions.

- Complete required daily reports, crew time records, project photos, and other job documentation.

- Uphold Higgins Group Inc.'s standards of professionalism, teamwork, and respect on every project.

Qualifications

- Previous hands-on experience installing concrete coating systems, with working knowledge of surface preparation, material mixing, application, and finishing.

- Experience operating concrete grinders, dust collection systems, and related hand and power tools.

- Ability to read and follow project scopes, product instructions, manufacturer specifications, and safety information.

- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting or carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment as needed.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Willingness to travel to assigned job sites and work in varying weather and site conditions.

- Commitment to following company safety procedures and wearing required PPE.

Work Environment

- Work is performed primarily on residential and commercial job sites, both indoors and outdoors.

- This is an active field position requiring regular participation in installation work while supervising a small crew.

- Work may involve exposure to dust, noise, coating materials, and changing weather conditions, with required controls and PPE.

- Frequent interaction with crew members, leadership, customers, and other job-site personnel.

- Work schedules may vary based on project needs, weather, and coating application or curing requirements.
