Job Title: QC Chemist Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated QC Chemist to join our team. The role involves performing quality control analysis of products and raw materials, supporting special inter-department projects, and maintaining high standards of quality. This position offers the opportunity to work in a newly built, fast-paced laboratory environment, where you will gain extensive knowledge of testing and instrumentation. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with occasional overtime and potential Saturday shifts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control analysis of products, raw materials, and special projects as needed.
- Analyze, approve or reject, and adjust products and raw materials based on corporate QC specifications.
- Reexamine retained product samples when defects are suspected.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to ensure quality standards.
- Operate everyday laboratory equipment and instruments, including performing titrations, viscosity, pH, ICP, AA, and HPLC.
- Work with Manufacturing and Purchasing to maintain high standards of quality for raw materials and their sources.
- Maintain and record test results, entering them into the computer system.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping and other assigned lab duties.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry; a degree in Biology may be considered for those interested in production chemistry work.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on laboratory experience, including titrations, pH testing, and viscosity measurements (experience can be from college).
- Basic computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
- Motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with ICP, AA, IFTR, and HPLC (experience can be from school).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ferndale, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
