Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative II to join our Patient Access team at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. This is a part-time opportunity.
Shift details: Saturday/Sunday 6:45AM-7:15PM
The Patient Access team plays a critical role in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring accurate and efficient access to care. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional with healthcare and insurance experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting patients throughout the registration and access process.
Patient Access Representative II Job Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and other healthcare team members
- Assist patients with the registration and patient access process while ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance coverage and collect required patient information and documentation
- Assist patients with questions related to registration, insurance, and the access-to-care process
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients and internal departments
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow applicable privacy and organizational policies
- Utilize computer systems and patient access technology to accurately document and update patient information
- Support efficient patient flow and contribute to a positive patient experience
Patient Access Representative II Experience:
- Customer Service Experience (required)
- Healthcare Experience (required)
- 1–2 years Insurance Experience (required)
- Experience in hospital registration or patient access (preferred)
Patient Access Representative II Education & Credential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

This role serves as the entry point into the Patient Access career path for candidates who bring relevant experience in customer service, healthcare, insurance, scheduling, registration, call center or administrative support. This role supports timely and accurate patient registration, scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, and point-of-service collection activities in a fast-paced hospital environment. This includes both straightforward and complex scenarios. The Representative II is expected to quickly develop proficiency in front-end revenue cycle workflows while delivering a professional, compassionate, and service-oriented first impression for patients and families.
