Job Description Summary
We're on an ambitious journey within the Finance Chief Operating Office (FCOO) to modernise Finance and deliver greater value through our platform operating model. The Finance Platform plays a critical role in enabling Finance through technology, data, change and operational services, helping improve colleague experience, strengthen controls and drive productivity.
We're looking for a Business Management Senior Manager to lead all aspects of Business Management activity across the Finance Platform. The role provides the insight, governance and financial rigor that supports effective decision-making, transparency and value delivery across one of Finance's most significant investment portfolios.
Working closely with FCOO leaders, Platform and Lab Leads, and Finance and Technology partners, you'll optimise investment, manage costs and ensure resources are aligned to strategic priorities. You'll bring together performance insight, workforce planning, financial management and governance to support delivery of FCOO priorities and Finance's wider transformation agenda.
As a member of the extended FCOO leadership community, you'll provide strategic insight, challenge and coordination, helping shape priorities, improve productivity and deliver measurable business value.

Job Description

In Search of a Leader Who Can:

- Drive performance and value across the Finance Platform, using clear measures, governance and insight to support better decisions.
- Lead Business Management activity, creating strong connectivity across FCOO, Finance and Technology teams.
- Shape priorities and investment decisions, ensuring resources are aligned to the highest-value outcomes.
- Provide strategic insight and constructive challenge to Platform, Lab and FCOO leaders.
- Strengthen financial rigor across investment and BAU activity through effective forecasting, planning and governance.
- Lead workforce planning and performance management, ensuring the Platform can operate effectively at pace and scale.
- Drive productivity and continuous improvement, finding opportunities to simplify, automate and improve outcomes.
- Develop clear executive insight and governance materials that support effective decision-making.

Core Skills, Knowledge and Experience

As an experienced and influential leader, the role involves bringing:

- Experience in business management, performance, finance, strategy or operational leadership within a large and complex organisation.
- Strong business and commercial insight, using data and evidence to see opportunities and drive value.
- Excellent data literacy and analytical capability, translating complex information into actionable insight.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, influencing senior customers through clear and compelling narratives.
- A proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence across teams, disciplines and leadership levels.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capability, using challenge, judgement and evidence to shape decisions.
- Experience leading teams and developing colleague capability within a high-performing environment.
- Strong planning, governance and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and ambiguity.
- Experience of financial management, investment governance and workforce planning across complex portfolios.
- Demonstrated accountability, resilience and sound judgement, with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement.
- An interest in emerging technologies, automation and AI, driving more efficient and effective ways of working.
- Experience within financial services, large-scale transformation programmes or platform operating models would be advantageous.
- A professional finance qualification is desirable but not essential.
