Job Title: Utilities Project Manager Job Description We are seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our team as a Project Manager supporting transmission and power projects. This is an opportunity to work with a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level engineering design services. The role is crucial to the growth of our power delivery business and transmission service group, offering a chance to transition from project management to client account management and development. Responsibilities

- Lead projects in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
- Manage the engineering and financial aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
- Prepare scope and estimates for proposals and statements of qualifications to utility clients.
- Develop project work plans and budget projections to effectively deploy resources.
- Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics including backlog, work in process, account receivables, and revenue.
- Prepare, maintain, and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal and external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
- Collaborate with department management to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures reflecting best engineering practices.
- Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and seek opportunities with potential future clients.

Essential Skills

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 4+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
- Professional disposition and openness to planning and execution of projects.
- Ability to independently direct a team of Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
- Knowledge of overhead and underground Transmission facilities.
- Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards.
- Understanding of industry design software.
- Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Active PE or PMP licensure is preferred.
- Experience leading an engineering team, demonstrating proficiency in resource management and delegation of engineering tasks.
- Experience providing technical direction for a department or organization in the field of expertise.
- Experience with Transmission Design Software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, or SAG10.
- Ambitious to transition into Program Management focusing on large capital projects.
- Experience managing a portfolio of projects, not just a single project.

Work Environment The role involves 25% - 30% travel, which may be heavier initially. The position is based in-office at one of the nearest offices. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $58.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
