Position Overview
The Junior Accountant will support the finance team by keeping the company's core financial and customer data accurate, current, and consistent across systems. This role owns the daily rhythm of the accounting operation: reconciling bank accounts, reviewing and resolving accounting cases, and verifying that customer and transaction information matches across every system it lives in. The Junior Accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant and report on data quality and open items, building the foundation of clean, reliable records that the rest of the finance team depends on.

Salary: MXN $22 - 28k monthly based on skill

Skills & Background
- Qualifications
- University degree (in progress or completed) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or financial data role.
- Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and solid Excel skills (formulas, lookups, basic reconciliation work).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when reconciling or cross-checking data across systems.
- Highly organized, able to manage a daily queue of cases and reconciliations without letting items slip.
- Good written and verbal communication in English, able to explain a data issue clearly to a non-financial colleague.
- Discretion and integrity when handling confidential customer and financial information.

Evaluation Metrics
- Accuracy and timeliness of daily bank reconciliations.
- Number of open accounting cases resolved within the expected turnaround time.
- Consistency of customer and transaction data across systems (error/discrepancy rate over time).
- Responsiveness in escalating unresolved issues before they become blockers for month-end close.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update customer information across all relevant systems, keeping records clean, accurate, and free of duplicates or inconsistencies.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations , matching transactions on bank accounts against internal records and flagging discrepancies.
- Review and process daily transactions on company bank accounts, confirming they are recorded correctly and promptly.
- Resolve daily accounting cases and inquiries , tracking each to completion and escalating issues that need senior review.
- Verify data consistency across different systems , confirming that customer, transaction, and financial information matches everywhere it is stored.
- Identify and correct data errors or inconsistencies as part of routine reviews, keeping records audit-ready at all times.
- Support the Senior Accountant with documentation and information needed for month-end close and audits.
- Escalate recurring or unresolved data issues to the Senior Accountant with clear notes on what was found and what was tried.
