Vantage Elevation, LLC is North Americas leading independent manufacturer of elevator components and systems. Vantage is comprised of eight business units including GAL Manufacturing; GAL Canada; Hollister-Whitney; Elevator Controls; Courion; Bore-Max; Thames Valley Controls and Vertical Dimensions. Through its brands, Vantage supplies almost all electro-mechanical devices used in contemporary elevators. Founded in 1927, the Vantage group employs over 900 staff in multiple locations across the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom.

The Buyer Agent is responsible for managing the supply of goods and ordering services to achieve on-time delivery and meet revenue and inventory goals. This position reports directly to Purchasing Manager and is a member of the larger Procurement department. This position will require frequent contact with internal and external departments.

Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

- Bachelors degree in supply chain or a related field.

- 1 – 2 years experience with ERP/MRP systems required; Infor V11 experience preferred but not required.

- 2 - 3 years of procurement experience in a make-to-order environment.

- Advanced Excel skills required; SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools a plus.

- APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or CPSM certification preferred but not required.

- Strong vendor management skills, including experience managing supplier contracts, scorecards, and performance metrics.

- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory levels, including forecasting upcoming levels of demand and supply to ensure product availability for production while minimizing excess inventory.

- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with both internal and external teams.

- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

- Purchasing & Procurement Operations

Handle all tactical purchasing responsibilities for internal and external supply chain partners to maintain high customer service levels.

- Generate requisitions and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers.

- Maintain accurate purchase order pricing, quantities, deliveries, and data within the ERP system.

- Production & Scheduling Support

Collaborate with Scheduling, Production, and Manufacturing teams to align material orders with production build schedules.

- Schedule timely delivery of materials for assigned commodities based on production needs.

- Provide suppliers with a rolling 12-month forecast to support planning.

- Inventory & Supplier Management

Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels for assigned materials.

- Identify and escalate supply risks (shortages, quality issues, delivery disruptions) to the Purchasing Manager.

- Actively manage inventory to align with business strategies and targets.

- Monitor and support supplier compliance with inventory agreements.

- Cost Management & Financial Coordination

Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payments.

- Generate, document, and implement cost-saving initiatives and ensure visibility of results.

- Ensure close cooperation with internal stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and enable early engagement.

- Collaborate with Sustaining Engineering on part changes to minimize scrap and ensure smooth transitions.

- Supplier Development & Compliance

Participating in supplier management activities such as qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification

- Partner with Quality to resolve supplier non-conformances and process RTVs for assigned suppliers

Work Contact Groups

- Internal : Frequent interaction with production, engineering, quality, manufacturing, finance, warehouse, and purchasing teams.

- External : Ongoing communication with suppliers, transportation partners, customs agents, and other Vantage Group companies.

- Day shifts, generally 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

- Based in Bronx, New York
