Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

Overview

Turner Staffing Group is partnered with a laboratory services company operating inside a gold mine in Kershaw, SC, looking for a Purchasing/Inventory Assistant to support day-to-day lab operations. This role is responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and providing general administrative support to keep the lab running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Order and track laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure the lab stays adequately stocked

- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overordering

- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to place orders, confirm pricing, and track deliveries

- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments and supplies

- Provide general administrative support to lab staff, including filing, data entry, and record-keeping

- Assist with maintaining purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation

- Communicate with lab personnel to understand supply needs and anticipate future orders

- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment

- Follow all site safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

- Previous experience in purchasing, inventory management, or administrative support preferred

- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with inventory or purchasing software a plus

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of day-to-day supply needs

- Comfortable working in a laboratory setting located within an active mining operation

- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
