Job Title: Leasing Analyst Job Description
The Leasing Analyst supports compliance with New Jersey’s Multiple Dwelling Reporting Rule (MDRR) by collecting, analyzing, and accurately recording tenant demographic information. This role involves extensive data entry, use of Excel pivot tables, and careful handling of sensitive information to ensure accurate reporting to state authorities.
Responsibilities
- Reach out to tenants to gather required demographic information, including ethnicity and gender, in a professional and respectful manner.
- Enter collected demographic information into the appropriate documentation and systems for reporting to the state.
- Make informed, educated decisions to complete demographic fields when tenants decline to provide information, following established guidelines.
- Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Manage and handle sensitive and confidential tenant information with discretion, integrity, and adherence to privacy requirements.
- Use Excel, including pivot tables, to organize, analyze, and summarize data related to tenant demographics and reporting requirements.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the Multiple Dwelling Reporting Rule (MDRR) as enforced by the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (DCR).
- Maintain a clear understanding of MDRR requirements, including the obligation for certain landlords to collect demographic information from applicants, tenants, and (starting in 2026) all occupants.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation needed for timely and complete reporting to state agencies.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and use pivot tables.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to demographic data collection, particularly the Multiple Dwelling Reporting Rule (MDRR).
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and reporting obligations.
- Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with tenants to collect required information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in real estate, property management, or a related field is beneficial.
- Familiarity with state-level civil rights regulations, especially those enforced by the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (DCR), is an advantage.
- Comfort working with regulatory documentation and structured reporting processes.
- Ability to learn and apply detailed compliance guidelines related to tenant and occupant demographic reporting.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment focused on real estate and tenant data management. The role involves extensive computer-based work, including frequent use of Excel and other data entry systems, and regular interaction with tenant information that must be handled confidentially. Work is typically performed during standard business hours, with an emphasis on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and careful documentation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
