About this role

Kolomoni Microfinance Bank (Gambia) Limited is a CBG-licensed microfinance institution serving customers across The Gambia through a growing branch network. We are recruiting a Branch Manager to lead one of our branches.

THE ROLE
You will run the branch as a business, not a service point — accountable for its deposits, lending, customer base, portfolio quality, service standards, controls and people. You will build the branch's position in its catchment, lead a team across the counter, credit and customer service, and answer for what the branch delivers. You will report to the Managing Director, with functional guidance from Operations, Credit and Risk & Internal Control.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Deliver the branch's deposit, lending, customer acquisition and revenue targets, and manage cost against budget.
- Build a credit pipeline of customers who will repay, and lead recovery action on those who do not.
- Hold portfolio quality within approved limits, monitoring arrears daily rather than monthly.
- Develop the branch's local market — merchants, employers, associations and agents in the catchment.
- Own the service standard at the counter and the control standard behind it: cash and vault under dual control, complete KYC before accounts go live, complete credit files before facilities leave the branch.
- Prevent, detect and report fraud and control breaches, and close audit and internal control findings on time.
- Set objectives for every role in the branch, coach the team, and address underperformance early.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- A first degree in any discipline. An MBA or a professional qualification such as ICAN or CIBN is an advantage.
- At least six years in banking or microfinance, including two to three years supervising a team or a service location.
- A demonstrated record of delivering deposit, lending and customer acquisition targets.
- Practical command of branch cash operations, credit documentation and recovery.
- Working knowledge of KYC, AML/CFT and consumer-protection requirements.
- The discipline to hold a documentation standard when a deal is under time pressure.
