Job Title: Purchasing Manager Job Description Join an established aerospace firm with over 80 years of history as a Purchasing Manager. In this role, you will supervise a team of up to four employees and work onsite from Monday to Friday, with a shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for growth and development in a leadership capacity from day one. Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and select vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Build and maintain long-term vendor relationships.
- Negotiate favorable contract terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast future supply needs, and prevent stockouts or excess waste.
- Hire, train, and supervise purchasing agents, buyers, and department staff.
- Manage procurement budgets, analyze financial reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Essential Skills
- 5-15 years of purchasing experience, preferably in aerospace/manufacturing.
- Proficiency in vendor management, negotiation, and procurement.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Experience with purchasing, procurement, and purchase orders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Visual MFG software or other ERP systems.
- Experience in data analysis and customer service.
- Familiarity with schematics and buying/ordering processes.
Work Environment The role is set in an aerospace machine shop environment. While you will primarily work in an office space, you will occasionally need to visit the shop floor to ask questions and gather information. The position requires working onsite during the specified shift hours. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $81000.00 - $107000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
