About this role
The Materials Handler is mainly accountable for safely unloading import containers without material handling equipment. This position is responsible for working jointly with team members to down stack floor loaded inventory from containers. Employees must work in a safe manner following all outlined safety policies, maintain good housekeeping, and must follow all environmental policies and work instructions.
Position Responsibilities may include:
Selecting the appropriate pallet for the product being received
Follow unloading procedures, and instructions from the supervisor or lead
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Perform other duties assigned by management

Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks
Work is closely supervised

Ability to safely unload import product and work jointly with other team members

Experience:
0-2 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED Equivalent
On the job training (The training is provided to general laborers so they can learn how to perform their basic job functions up to company standards. The training period lasts 1-2 weeks in most cases. During training, Materials Handlers must be monitored by supervisors and floor leads until they confirm these tasks are being carried out properly

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
High volume DC warehouse environment with forklift traffic.
Non climate controlled environment so must be able to work in in warm and cool conditions
Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hrs.
Repetitive movement, good eye/hand coordination, and good flexibility
Job may require standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
May be required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 50lbs.
