Job Title: Engineering Supervisor (PE) Job Description The Engineering Supervisor (PE) oversees the day-to-day operations of an electrical substation engineering department, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. This role provides both technical and non-technical leadership to engineering teams, manages project scopes and workflows, and serves as the primary liaison between internal teams and the customer. The Supervisor plays a key role in driving business processes, supporting growth initiatives, and ensuring smooth execution of current and future work. Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership and training in substation engineering, with a focus on protection and control, and offer one-on-one mentorship and coaching to team leads.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain quality control standards for design services, engineering standards, and deliverable products.
- Monitor and maintain project budgets and schedules for all department projects and workflows using designated systems and procedures.
- Develop and review conceptual project scopes and effectively communicate these scopes to multiple stakeholders, including providing cost estimates for projects.
- Hold teams accountable to project estimates, schedules, and customer deadlines, and ensure change orders are issued promptly when required.
- Directly manage team leads and individual contributors within the department, providing guidance on technical and operational matters.
- Collaborate with internal leads and customer stakeholders to drive business processes that keep workflow and workload efficient and effective.
- Complete written technical performance reports and deliver periodic presentations to management and teams regarding project status, budget, and performance.
- Identify and understand customer needs and work closely with the customer and internal team to ensure processes run smoothly and expectations are met.
- Distribute workflow from the customer to internal leads for allocation to their teams, ensuring all projects are funneled and coordinated through the Supervisor.
- Serve as the primary interface and liaison with the customer to address problems, inefficiencies, and process issues.
- Resolve issues related to invoicing, resourcing, and staffing to maintain project continuity and customer satisfaction.
- Mediate and work out resolutions to disagreements between the customer and internal team regarding processes and project-related issues.
- Proactively pursue solutions to personnel matters, including hiring, termination, promotions, demotions, attendance concerns, scheduling, and performance reviews.
- Supervise the work of the project team and take responsibility for coaching, performance evaluations, employee relations, and overall team development.
- Drive training and development initiatives for the team through close collaboration with leads to build skills and capabilities.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and customer-specific software and applications to manage projects, documentation, reporting, and communication.

Essential Skills

- Extensive technical expertise in substation engineering, including protection and control systems, relay settings, one-line diagrams, fault studies, and fault analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering supervision and engineering management within utility or utility services environments.
- Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards for engineering design services and technical deliverables.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, scope development, and cost estimation.
- Proven ability to lead, supervise, and develop technical design and engineering teams, including direct management of leads and individual contributors.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, presenting to management, and coordinating across internal teams.
- Ability to resolve complex issues related to invoicing, resourcing, staffing, and process disagreements in a professional and constructive manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use customer-specific software and applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience engineering and managing electric substation protection and control systems projects.
- 4+ years of experience leading or supervising a technical design or engineering team.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license, or the ability and willingness to obtain a PE license within an agreed timeframe.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience working with electric utilities or utility services organizations on substation projects.
- Background in developing and reviewing conceptual project scopes and aligning them with customer requirements.
- Experience preparing written technical performance reports and delivering presentations on project status, budget, and performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Experience handling personnel decisions such as hiring, promotions, demotions, and performance evaluations in an engineering environment.
- Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Comfort working as a primary liaison between internal engineering teams and external customers.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.07 - $70.10/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
