About this role

About Us

Edison Scientific builds and deploys AI scientist agents to accelerate science and the development of new medicines. We are an ambitious team run by scientists and engineers from leading institutions across biology, physics, chemistry, and AI.

About the Role

As a Member of Operations Staff at Edison Scientific, you will be a jack-of-all-trades generalist who knows how to ruthlessly prioritize and get things done. You will report to our Head of Operations and partner closely with teams across Edison to strengthen our operational backbone as we scale.

This is a role for someone who wants to be close to the hardest problems at a company moving with urgency and focus.

Key Responsibilities

- Own cross-functional projects end-to-end, from scoping through execution.
- Build and run operational processes that make Edison easier to operate as we scale.
- Execute on projects spanning operations, people, and business systems.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities before they become obvious.
- Pull and analyze data to inform decisions and track progress.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders ranging from engineers to executives.
- Pick up whatever needs doing, even when it's outside your comfort zone.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in operations, consulting, finance, or a similar business-side role.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects end to end without close supervision.
- Experience pulling and interpreting data to drive decisions.
- Ability to communicate credibly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort working in ambiguity and intensity.
- Actively uses AI tools to create leverage across daily work: automating tasks, optimizing workflows, and directing agents where appropriate.
- Strong interest in AI for science.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a high-growth startup or early-stage company.
- A second degree (MBA, MPP, JD) or pre-career path in a rigorous analytical field.
- Background in science, whether through formal training or professional experience in a scientific domain.
