As a Water Resources Engineering Intern on our Water Infrastructure team in Santa Ana, CA , you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you'll have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects while developing technical skills that will prepare you for a career in water resources engineering.

What You'll Do
At Psomas, our Water Resources Engineering Interns don't just observe - they contribute. In this role, you'll support project teams while gaining practical experience and exposure to the full lifecycle of water infrastructure design and delivery.
- Engineering Design : Assist with the design and preparation of plans for water, wastewater, and related infrastructure projects.
- Technical Support : Assist with engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- CAD & Design Tools : Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software to develop project deliverables.
- Project Research : Gather and analyze technical information, plans, maps, and project data.
- Field Experience : Participate in site visits, field investigations, and project meetings as opportunities arise.
- Team Collaboration : Work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers while learning industry standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year current college student pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited program. Candidates from local universities/colleges are preferred.
- Strong interest in water resources, water infrastructure, or civil engineering.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and design concepts.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in civil or water engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other engineering design software.
- Coursework or experience related to water, wastewater, hydraulics, hydrology, or infrastructure design.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay : $22 - $24/hr. (commensurate with experience.)
