The Regional IT Business Partner supports and executes gategroup’s IT business strategy within the assigned region. Acting as the primary link between business functions and IT, the role ensures that IT services and solutions effectively meet business needs and align with global standards.

The position partners with business leaders and key stakeholders to identify opportunities, define and prioritize initiatives, and guide the local investment and planning process. Through strong collaboration and strategic alignment, the role enables the business to achieve its objectives and drive value through the effective use of technology.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

IT Strategy and Roadmap Deployment
Implement agreed IT roadmaps and oversee the rollout of regional and local IT solutions. Ensure successful deployment of technology initiatives across business units and customer interfaces, aligned with global IT standards and strategic objectives.

Demand and Portfolio Management
Support business leaders in developing IT demands and roadmaps that can be assessed, costed, prioritized, and scheduled for delivery. Facilitate the intake, approval, and governance process for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with regional and corporate priorities.

Financial and Budget Planning
Collaborate with regional and country management to develop and manage IT budgets. Ensure that investment requests and business cases are well-structured, justified, and aligned with strategic and financial goals.

Business Analysis and Solution Development
Analyze business requirements and recommend technology solutions that meet operational and strategic needs. Partner with architecture, design, and operations teams to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with company standards.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management
Act as the key liaison between IT and business functions across all domains. Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT partners to ensure service quality, contract adherence, and value delivery.

Governance and Service Alignment
Ensure that business expectations are aligned with IT service levels and that agreed SLAs are achievable within available budgets. Negotiate service levels with the respective IT functions and teams, balancing cost and business value.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor, report, and communicate IT service performance and project progress to business stakeholders. Provide transparent updates on issues, risks, and corrective actions in a timely manner.

Change and Escalation Management
Serve as an escalation point for IT-related issues, ensuring effective problem resolution and stakeholder communication during critical incidents. Support change management by helping the business adapt to evolving IT processes and solutions.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process improvement and operational excellence. Promote innovation and ensure lessons learned are embedded in future initiatives.

Qualification Requirements

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or MBA with a focus on Technology Management or Business Strategy is an advantage.
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP/Prince2 are desirable.

Work Experience

- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in IT business relationship management, project management, or business analysis, preferably in a regional or multinational environment.
- Proven ability to align IT initiatives with business priorities and deliver measurable value.
- Experience in IT demand management, budgeting, and investment planning.
- Strong background in IT service delivery, governance, and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated experience working in matrix organizations and coordinating across global and regional teams.

Technical Skills

- Solid understanding of IT governance, service management (ITIL), and project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of business process analysis, portfolio management, and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP), data analytics tools, and integration technologies.
- Ability to evaluate and develop business cases and ROI analyses for IT investments.
- Experience using ITSM and project tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, MS Project).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.

Language Skills

- Fluent in English and German (written and verbal); additional languages are an advantage
