About this role

Meet Fourth Street Clinic

Fourth Street Clinic helps Utahns experiencing homelessness improve their health and quality of life by providing high-quality, integrated healthcare. Our team is passionate, collaborative, and deeply committed to health equity and human dignity.

The Role, In Brief

As a Medical Assistant, youll keep our clinic running smoothly by giving providers the hands-on support they need to deliver timely, respectful care. Youll balance patient-facing clinical work with solid documentation and supply readiness—because great care is part skill, part follow-through.

Key responsibilities include:
- Rooming patients; vitals; EKGs; immunizations/injections; medication administration; assisting with minor procedures (within scope)
- Phlebotomy and IV access per training and clinic protocols
- CLIA-waived testing and appropriate reporting
- Clear, accurate EHR documentation and requesting outside records as needed
- Stocking/maintaining exam rooms, labs, and supplies; supporting MA/RN team workflow
- Outreach/mobile clinic support; Code Blue response as assigned; basic admin tasks
- Following CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies

Required qualifications:
- High school diploma/equivalent; strong communication and organization
- Calm under pressure; able to meet physical demands
- AHA BLS or obtain within 30 days (training provided); pass required screenings

If this sounds like your kind of meaningful, fast-paced work, apply today.

Your Day, Unscripted

Youll kick off onsite in Salt Lake City (M–F, 8am–6pm), syncing up with the MA/RN care team and getting your rooms and supplies dialed in before the patient flow ramps up. The day moves quickly: youll bounce between focused patient interactions, quick pivots when the schedule shifts, and steady charting so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

Some days include heading out with outreach/mobile services—think camps, motels, or resource centers—where flexibility and a calm presence matter just as much as clinical know-how. In between, youll coordinate with providers, track down outside records when needed, and help keep the clinic humming so patients experience care that feels organized, respectful, and human.
