About this role

Harris Group is looking for an Entry Level Structural Engineer to work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers on a variety of industrial applications. This opportunity will be based in Harris Group’s Portland office and will require travel to jobsites in the area intermittently. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in Structural Engineering. This role involves providing technical support and structural design for steel structures, concrete foundations, and equipment support systems for various industrial facilities. Bring your curiosity and problem-solving skills to this exciting role!

Responsibilities

- Perform seismic evaluations and analyses of both new and existing structures.

- Production of basic structural engineering design within project constraints (scope, quality, schedule, budget).

- Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines and support construction activities to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

B.S. in ABET accredited Civil or Structural Engineering program with 0-3 years of relevant experience and E.I.T certification.

- Ability to apply structural engineering techniques commonly used in industrial capital projects.

- Conduct detail calculations of loads, pressures, stresses and strains of structural components and document results with supporting design basis information.

- Communicate structural design solutions through drawings, specifications, computer models, and other design and construction documents. Ability to proficiently identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs, including: IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and jurisdiction specific codes.

- Ability to proficiently apply analysis software including RISA3D, STAAD, Enercalc, and FEA.

- Ability to use drafting software including AutoCAD and Revit for engineering design, quality control and drawing revisions.

- Ability o use basic office software including Bluebeam and MS Office products.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Understand how to work with set budgets and deadlines for structural engineering tasks while maintaining a high level of quality.

Benefits

- Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
