About this role

Drafter Job Description This Drafter position focuses on producing accurate construction documents for both existing and new retail stores using AutoCAD. You will collaborate closely with a small planning team and a remote manager, using MS Excel to log and track plans while contributing to high-quality architectural and interior design projects in a modern corporate office environment. Responsibilities

- Create detailed construction documents for existing and new store locations using AutoCAD.
- Translate architectural and interior design concepts into clear, precise technical drawings.
- Use MS Excel to log, track, and maintain records of plans and project documentation.
- Collaborate with a team of planners to ensure consistency and accuracy across all drawings.
- Incorporate drafting standards and architectural best practices into all project work.
- Coordinate with a remote manager for direction, feedback, and project approvals.
- Respond to guidance from on-site leadership to align drawings with project requirements.
- Update and revise drawings based on design changes, feedback, and field conditions.
- Ensure that all drawings meet corporate and project-specific quality and formatting standards.
- Support interior architecture and design efforts by preparing layouts and plan sets as needed.

Essential Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to demonstrate practical drafting skills.
- Experience creating construction documents or technical drawings, including at least 6 months of drafting experience through school projects or internships (preferred).
- Strong drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with architectural and interior design concepts and translate them into technical drawings.
- Competence in using MS Excel to log, organize, and track plans and project data.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and communicate clearly with a remote manager.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple drawings and documentation requirements simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor’s degree in drafting, architecture, or interior design.
- Background or coursework in architecture, interior architecture, or interior design.
- Experience with MicroStation is a plus.
- Understanding of design and architecture principles as they relate to retail or commercial spaces.
- Ability to learn and adapt to corporate drafting standards and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret design intent in technical form.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of MENOMONEE FALLS, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
