Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description
The Lab Technician tests materials before, during, and after production to measure their characteristics and ensure they conform to product specifications. This role focuses on inspecting and testing products for quality and accuracy, supporting consistent production standards and reliable performance.
Responsibilities
- Examine, measure, and test the quality of products in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner to ensure they meet established specifications.
- Utilize a database system to accurately record test measurements and maintain organized quality records.
- Label and package archived product samples and marketing samples in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify deficiencies or nonconforming products and promptly notify a supervisor or manager so that appropriate corrective actions can be taken.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment in the laboratory and surrounding areas.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the company as needed to support production and quality operations.
Essential Skills
- High attention to detail to accurately examine and measure product characteristics.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a production and laboratory setting.
- Basic mathematics skills, including unit conversion, to perform measurements and interpret test results.
- Computer literacy, including the ability to work with databases and enter test data accurately.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English to document findings and communicate with team members.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferably at least 1 year of quality testing experience in a laboratory or production environment.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, driving an automatic forklift, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing, and grasping.
- Ability to work in a non-controlled environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory or quality control environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with product testing methods and quality assurance procedures is an advantage.

Work Environment
The Lab Technician works in a production and laboratory setting that is a non-controlled environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and other typical manufacturing conditions. The role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, operating an automatic forklift, and performing physical movements such as squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing, and grasping. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
