Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales desk, structuring vehicle deals, supporting Sales Specialists, and helping drive overall dealership profitability and customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or GED

- Post-sale relationship management

- Prior finance or sales experience is a plus

- Thorough understanding of vehicle financing

- Professional appearance and disposition

- Productivity through time management

- Tekion experience is a plus

- Comfort utilizing sales closing techniques

- Effective relationship-building skills

- Demonstrate subject matter expertise

- Strong communication skills; listening

- Extremely organized; performs under pressure

- Valid California drivers license; insurable

- Current California Car Salesperson license

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage and oversee the sales desk throughout the daily sales process

- Work directly with Sales Consultants to structure and negotiate vehicle transactions

- Analyze customer needs, vehicle selection, trade-in information, credit considerations, incentives, and deal structure

- Review and approve deal structures within established dealership guidelines

- Maximize gross profit while maintaining a professional, customer-focused sales process

- Provide Sales Consultants with effective guidance on negotiations, presentations, objection handling, and closing techniques

- Monitor and manage customer traffic, leads, appointments, and sales opportunities

- Assist with difficult or escalated customer situations and work toward appropriate resolutions

- Ensure accurate completion of sales paperwork and proper adherence to dealership processes

- Coordinate closely with the F&I department to facilitate a smooth transition from sales to finance

- Review sales reports, gross-profit reports, inventory information, and other performance metrics

- Monitor individual and team sales performance and provide coaching when necessary

- Help ensure manufacturer programs, incentives, rebates, pricing policies, and dealership promotions are properly applied

- Maintain strong knowledge of current inventory, vehicle features, pricing, financing programs, and competitive market conditions

- Participate in sales meetings, training, and management meetings

- Ensure all customer interactions and sales practices comply with dealership policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements

- Maintain a professional, positive, and performance-oriented sales environment

- Perform other duties as assigned by dealership management

Compensation: $70k – 80k/annually plus commission (depending on experience)
