Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Branch Manager to lead all aspects of our retail energy and commercial fuel distribution operation. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional customer experiences, growing market share, and achieving branch profitability goals.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, management experience, and a proven ability to develop customer relationships. In addition to overseeing daily operations, this position plays a key role in expanding commercial and heavy fuel sales, identifying growth opportunities, and strengthening our presence within the local market.

Key Responsibilities:
Branch Leadership & Operations
- Oversee all branch operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of energy products and services.
- Direct and enhance the customer experience, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of branch functions, performance goals, and operational objectives.
- Manage branch profitability, budgets, expenses, and financial performance metrics.
- Utilize company operating systems and reporting tools to monitor business performance and drive accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to fuel distribution and service operations.
- Maintain a professional corporate image while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Sales Leadership:
- Lead business development efforts focused on commercial fuel, fleet fueling, heavy equipment fueling, diesel, gasoline, heating fuels, and bulk petroleum products.
- Develop and execute growth strategies to increase market share within construction, transportation, manufacturing, municipal, agricultural, and industrial sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with commercial accounts, contractors, fleet operators, municipalities, and key business partners.
- Identify customer needs and present customized fuel solutions, pricing programs, and value-added services.
- Conduct regular customer visits, sales calls, networking events, and business development meetings.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, fuel pricing movements, and customer retention risks.
- Achieve sales and gross margin targets through prospecting, consultative selling, and account management.
- Partner with marketing teams to support promotional campaigns, customer outreach initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
- Drive contract renewals, retention strategies, and long-term customer partnerships.
- Develop branch sales pipelines and forecasting processes to support sustainable revenue growth.
Customer Experience & Retention
- Deliver exceptional customer service through a commitment to company service guarantees and customer-focused practices.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Promote a service culture that drives customer retention, referrals, and loyalty.
- Ensure prompt response to customer inquiries, service requests, and sales opportunities.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, and retain high-performing branch employees.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback through established performance management processes.
- Address employee relations, performance challenges, and development opportunities in partnership with Human Resources.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and individual coaching sessions.
- Foster employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Encourage employee participation in sales initiatives and customer growth activities.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote and actively support the company's safety culture and programs.
- Lead branch safety initiatives and participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and all applicable fuel industry regulations.
- Conduct safety observations, corrective actions, and risk assessments as needed.
- Maintain a safe working environment for employees, customers, and contractors.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience required.
- Experience in fuel distribution, petroleum, energy services, transportation, logistics, commercial sales, or related industries preferred.
- Demonstrated success in business development, commercial account management, or heavy fuel sales strongly preferred.
