Are you passionate about workplace safety and looking to make an impact on some of the most complex construction projects in the country? We're seeking a Safety Specialist to support large-scale data center construction projects across Wisconsin. In this role, you'll be a key driver of site safety, partnering with project teams, contractors, and field personnel to create and maintain a culture where safety is the top priority. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career safety professional who wants hands-on experience in the rapidly growing data center industry while working alongside experienced construction and safety leaders.

What You'll Do

- Develop and implement site-specific safety plans that support safe and successful project execution.
- Conduct field audits, site inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and proactively address potential safety concerns.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to verify adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and safety observations, helping identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to promote awareness and accountability across the jobsite.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, permits, incident reports, training documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Partner closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and trade partners to integrate safety into every phase of construction.
- Foster a strong safety culture by building relationships in the field and encouraging proactive hazard identification and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance jobsite safety, efficiency, and compliance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in construction safety, EHS, or a similar safety-focused role.
- Current OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certification.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and job hazard analyses.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage field personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to investigate incidents and help implement corrective actions.
- Willingness to spend significant time in the field supporting active construction operations.

Preferred Qualifications

- Internship or field experience supporting commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects.
- Knowledge of high-risk construction activities such as energized work, crane operations, confined spaces, and fall protection.
- Experience conducting safety training or leading toolbox talks.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Strong desire to grow into a leadership role within construction safety.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Washington, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $52.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
